What to expect
Our kits are supplied with everything that you will need to fit onto a stock engine however there maybe some other parts that are required beyond the standard kit that we supply. All kit items are listed in the kit descriptions and includes comprehensive fitting instructions to fit them as a DIY project for a competent person - everything we provide is designed to bolt on without the need for any welding or other modifications. Every kit we supply is checked and fully assembled on our stock VW Air-cooled twin port engine to ensure everything runs and aligns correctly before it leaves the workshop.
Please note the kit will require you to change your exhaust if it is stock, the system requires a bigger bore exhaust to allow gases to be released at a faster rate than the restrictive stock system (This is not part of the kit, neither are any exhaust related parts such as heat riser blanking plates).
You will need to retain your stock 1600 inlet manifolds to fit the kit. If your engine has been modified to fit twin carburettors then you will need to purchase new stock inlet manifolds. (These are not part of the kit).
Please refer to our FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) page for more information which maybe useful before considering a purchase.
Our kit is designed for engines in stock condition so if there have been any modifications some additional assembly steps maybe required and additional parts sourced at your own cost. It is important that you ensure your engine is in good health before considering fitting one of these kits.
On completion of your installation the equipment will require fine tuning to ensure your engine runs correctly, this may involve changing carburettor jets or other internal components. Adjustment of ignition timing or replacement of the distributer may be required. We would always recommend that you seek the assistance of a professional to carry out final tuning and to undertake safety inspections following installation, additional parts required will be at your own expense along with any labour charges so please consider this before any purchase. Failure to seek professional help for an engine that is not tuned correctly could result in damage. NOTE: IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ENGINE TUNER TO ULTIMATELY CONFIRM THE TUNING CALIBRATION IS CORRECT AND SAFE FOR ITS INTENDED USE. WE HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ENGINE DAMAGE THAT RESULTS FROM THE MISUSE OR MIS-TUNING OF THIS PRODUCT. PLEASE REFER TO OUR FAQ SECTION FOR MORE GUIDENCE ON TIMING AND TUNING.
The carburettors come supplied with standard jets direct from the manufacturer these will be adequate for you to start your engine and hear it running provided the kit has been fitted correctly. If you purchase additional jetting packs from us we will fit them for you before delivery of your kit but please be aware that you still may need to further fine tune your engine which may include the need to change some of the jets or other internal components, we supply jets on a theoretical basis based on the engine spec you provide us with. You will need access to a rolling road and specialist equipment to get the best results from the installation, please note this will be at your own expense but is critical.
We will always do everything that we can to support you to resolve any issues that you experience with the goods that we supply. Please contact us by email Kompressorhaus@gmail.com providing details of the support that you need and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
